Director of Missions
“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:2). It is a joy to be serving as your Director of Missions for the Liberty Association! We are “churches serving Christ together” in the spirit of OBEYING Christ’s mandate to “be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). Jesus did NOT say “first in Jerusalem, then to all Judea and Samaria, and then to the ends of the earth.” He said “be my witnesses in Jerusalem…and in all Judea…and Samaria…and to the ends of the earth.” This means we are called to witness SIMULTANEOUSLY…locally, regionally, nationally and globally, we witness for Him in all these places at the same time, not putting any one place on hold while witnessing to others.
A bit about myself: I answered the call to ministry in 1972, and have been a pastor for over 30 years, serving churches in Alabama and Kentucky. My wife (Shirley) and I have lived and ministered in KY since 1987, having moved from Alabama following graduation from Samford University to attend Southern Seminary, where I earned an M.Div. (Pastor/Teacher Track) and a PhD. (Christian Theology). Shirley works in Oldham Co., KY. We have 5 grandchildren (who I will be glad to tell you about!). I enjoy deer and turkey hunting, and amateur radio. My life verse is Philippians 4:13.
